Real People, Real Solutions
Our History
We were founded by the Fraternal Organization of the Knights of Columbus, and for more than 15 years, we embodied the mission of giving back to our community. In 2010 we became a community charter, but we retained our mission to serve anyone and their family who lives, works, worships, attends school, volunteers in Livonia, MI.
When you become a member of Michigan Columbus FCU, you become part of a movement encompassing more than 120 million members nationwide.
Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives who exemplify the "People Helping People" philosophy and are committed to strengthening their local communities. Unlike a traditional bank, our mission is not to earn profits for stockholders, but to help you achieve your financial goals by returning profits to you in the form of dividends, affordable loan rates and lower fees. It’s what the credit union difference is all about!
Our members have a voice.
When you become a member, you are so much more than a customer - you are an owner of our credit union with a voice and a vote. Our Board of Directors is comprised of trained volunteers, elected from the membership, by the membership. They donate their time to ensure that the credit union operates in the best possible interest of our member/owners - that's you!
